The Fourteen We Get Asked Most

Written out so the phone call can be shorter and the session can be longer. If yours is not here, ring the bench and ask.

The lower your handicap, the more you notice a bad fit. The higher your handicap, the more a bad fit costs you. Both statements are true, which is why the idea that fitting is for good players has always been backwards.

That said, if your swing is changing week to week because you are mid-lesson or genuinely new to the game, wait. Fit to a delivery that repeats. We will tell you on the phone if we think you should come back in six months.

Then we say so, print the spec cards, charge the session fee and you leave with your existing set and better information about it. This is a real outcome and it happens often enough that we mention it in advance. The fitting fee pays for the measurement, not for a purchase.

Yes, and you pay build labour only. Two conditions: the components need to be genuine, and the warranty on the build covers our workmanship rather than the part. Counterfeit shafts circulate widely in the online market and we will not install one we believe to be fake, because a shaft failing at speed is a safety problem.

Bring anything you are unsure about. Identifying a fake usually takes a minute or two and there is no charge for the opinion.

Where the components are on the shelf, single clubs are frequently built during your session. Full sets built from stock run four to six working days. Special-order components add whatever the distributor actually needs, and we quote that from their real stock position rather than a catalogue estimate.

Bench-only jobs like regripping and loft and lie work are usually same day or next day.

Indoors, into a net, with a radar launch monitor and a strike camera. The turf board sits in front of the net and is a replaceable surface, which is what lets us record entry angle and low point properly.

Some golfers prefer outdoor fittings and that is a legitimate preference. What indoors gives up in ball-flight confirmation it gains in repeatability: no wind, no temperature drift across the session, no chasing a shot into a treeline. For measurement work the trade is worth it.

Yes, and one of the two builders here is left-handed, which helps more than you would think when explaining what the club is doing. Left-handed component stock is thinner across the whole industry, so give us a day of notice and we will pull what is relevant before you arrive.

Your current clubs for the category being fitted, your golf shoes, and a glove if you wear one. That is genuinely everything. Water is here, the warm-up net is here, and you do not need to bring balls.

Not in the same session, because there is one bay and the whole point is undivided time. You can book back-to-back slots on the same afternoon and the second person is welcome to sit in on the first session. Plenty of couples and playing partners do exactly that.

Because a bench that is constantly interrupted by bay sessions produces slower turnaround and worse work. One full day a week with no appointments is what keeps the four-to-six day set build honest. The phone is answered on Wednesdays and you can drop clubs off, but there is no bay time.

No. There is no retail floor here and nothing is priced as a package. Every club that leaves is built to a measured spec, and components are billed at cost plus a flat 18 percent that appears on the invoice as its own line.

Between November and April, which is the busy season here, iron and driver sessions typically run two to three weeks out and Saturday mornings go first. Through the summer a week is usually plenty. Cancellations happen, so it is always worth asking about a short-notice slot.

They go in the shop book against your name, kept locally, so a session five years from now can start from what your clubs measured today. Nothing is shared with a manufacturer and nothing is sold. If you would rather we did not keep it, say so and we will hand you the only copy.

Constantly. Most of the bench work here is on clubs bought elsewhere. There is no penalty rate and no attitude about it.

Twelve months on our workmanship for anything built here. A head that comes loose, a ferrule that lifts, a grip that spins — brought back and fixed at no charge. Component defects go through the manufacturer and we handle that correspondence for you rather than sending you to a call centre.

Still Unresolved?

The quickest route is a phone call. Describe the shot that is costing you strokes and we will tell you which session addresses it, or whether a fifteen-minute spec check would settle the question for nothing.
