What We Do

Sessions, Rebuilds, and the Small Jobs Nobody Advertises

There are two halves to this shop. One is the hitting bay, where we work out what the club should be. The other is the bench behind it, where the club actually gets made. Plenty of people only ever need the second half.

Fitting Sessions

Book by club category. Each one is a single golfer in the bay for the full duration — we do not double-book bench time.

Driver Head model, loft sleeve setting, shaft profile, playing length and head weight, judged first on how much ball speed survives an off-centre strike. 90 min
Fairway Wood Turf-first. A fairway wood that only works off a tee is a driver you paid twice for, so most of this session happens off the mat and off the grass. 75 min
Hybrid Filling the yardage nobody covers well. We work out whether the answer is a hybrid at all, or a driving iron, or one more fairway wood. 75 min
Irons The long one. Head geometry, face progression, sole width and bounce, shaft profile, length, lie and set makeup, with the blend point checked properly. 2 hr
Wedges Gapping, then grind selection tested on the turf board against a genuine Bermuda-over-sand profile rather than a mat that flatters everything. 75 min
Putter Length, lie, static loft, shaft lean, head weight and hosel style, matched to the arc your stroke actually traces on the roll board. 60 min
Full Bag Audit Every club measured, every gap plotted, every duplicate flagged. Ends with a written map and a priority order for what to change first. 3.5 hr

Bench Work Without a Fitting

Sometimes the clubs are right and the build is wrong. These jobs do not need bay time and most turn around inside three working days.

Per club

Re-Shafting

Old shaft extracted with controlled heat so it survives the pull, new shaft profiled, cut, tipped, installed and swing-weighted back to the number you asked for. Ferrule turned down flush by hand.

Per set

Loft & Lie Correction

Every head gauged and logged before anything is bent, so you see how far out of spec the set arrived. Forged heads bend cleanly; we will tell you honestly when a cast set has nothing left.

Per set

Swing Weight Matching

Weight placed inside the head where it belongs, not stacked under the grip. A set that reads the same on the balance also feels the same in your hands, which is the point.

Per club

Grip Work

Regripping with your choice of build-up tape layers, logged so the next set matches. We measure the finished diameter rather than guessing from the number of wraps.

Per set

Length & Tip Trim

Shortening or extending with the correct tip weight added back so the head does not go light. Extensions are steel-to-steel or graphite-to-graphite, never a mismatch.

Free

Spec Check

Drop the set off, we gauge loft, lie, length and swing weight and print the card. No charge, no obligation, and it tells you whether you need a fitting or just a bend.

What You Take Home

  • A printed spec card per club: real measured length, loft, lie, swing weight, total mass, grip model and tape count.
  • The shot data from your session, exported as a plain file — yours to keep and to compare against next year.
  • A short written note on what we changed and why, in language that will still make sense in six months.
  • A standing invitation to bring the clubs back for a free re-gauge after a season of play.

Nothing is held back as leverage to sell you the next thing. If the session concludes that your current equipment is fine, that is a legitimate outcome and we will say so on the card.

Not Sure Which Session You Need?

Call the bench and describe the shot that keeps costing you strokes. Two minutes on the phone usually settles it, and there is no charge for the conversation.
